Last night, the Deputy for Infrastructure, Antonio Bernabeu, alongside the Mayor of Sax, Laura Estevan, inaugurated the town's new auditorium. The event was followed by the gala for the Alberto Sols Awards, recognising research and scientific work in the field of health.
The project has cost 1,100,000 euros, with 66% of the funding, over 730,000 euros, provided by the Alicante Provincial Council through the Plan Planifica. The remaining amount was contributed by the Town Council. This initiative has completed the infrastructure, making the auditorium operational, located in the building that also houses the Cultural Centre.
"The Alicante Provincial Council has been fully committed to executing this project, with significant financial investment, providing the residents of Sax with a modern, efficient space that meets the needs identified by the local council," Bernabeu highlighted during the inauguration. He reiterated that "the provincial institution will always be there to support all municipalities, especially the smaller ones, ensuring that all citizens, regardless of where they live, enjoy the best facilities and services."
During the construction, necessary civil works and installations were carried out in the main auditorium hall - stage, dressing room, distributors, waiting rooms, toilets, etc. - as well as in the entrance hall, all on the ground floor. From this level, access is provided via an external staircase to the first-floor patio, creating a structured framework with various spaces.
After inaugurating the auditorium, Deputy Antonio Bernabeu also participated in the presentation of the 20th Alberto Sols Awards for biomedical research, an initiative supported by the town in collaboration with the University of Alicante and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, also receiving financial backing from the Alicante Provincial Council.
