The roundabout that connects Mutxamel with Busot has been inaugurated this Monday, September 30. The Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus, highlighted that with the actions on the CV-773, a "historical problem is solved" and it demonstrates "the Consell's commitment to road safety".

In these terms, Martínez Mus spoke during the inauguration of the roundabout on the CV-773, the main access road to the urban center and residential areas of Busot, which has "an average intensity of 4,333 vehicles per day, a figure that increases considerably in the summer," he added.

In addition, the Minister explained that the Generalitat, which has allocated 204,000 euros to this intervention, "acts at a point where there were safety problems due to high vehicle speeds at the old intersection and thus also reduces the risk of accidents and improves traffic flow".

During the visit to the area, Martínez Mus pointed out that the project "is compatible with future sustainable mobility actions such as the construction of a cycle-pedestrian lane, which will connect Mutxamel with the Bonalba urbanization".

He also commented that the project consisted of modifying the existing intersection typology by constructing a roundabout with an outer radius of 21 meters, with a single roadway five meters wide and access branches. "In designing the roundabout, both correct functionality and minimization of land occupation have been combined," noted the Minister.

Finally, the Minister of Infrastructure added that these works, framed within the context of conservation contracts managed by the Territorial Infrastructure Service of Alicante, have been executed in four months.
