The improvement program for the Proace and Proace City vans has strengthened their competitiveness, and both models continue to offer net load values and maximum load length among the best in their category. For the 2024 version, these Toyotas incorporate new styling and design features that complement their cargo transport capabilities with high levels of comfort, safety, and functionality.

The redesign results in a more imposing visual presence on the road, highlighted by a front treatment with stronger lines. The absence of an upper grille between the front headlights creates a sophisticated appearance, while the Proace City adopts a trapezoidal lower grille, a design element shared with other current Toyota models. The overall image conveys robustness, enhanced by new front headlights—now available with full LED technology—and optional alloy wheels. The cabin also presents a refreshed look, with a robust and comfortable finish.

The technological profile has been enriched with the addition of a new 10-inch color multimedia screen, standard on all versions except for the basic models, which retain a five-inch screen. DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity are standard on all models, and higher trims are equipped with a new 10-inch color digital instrument cluster. Additionally, all models feature USB-C ports for data and charging, as well as wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Proace and Proace City ranges represent a significant step forward in terms of safety features and driver assistance compared to previous models. Features that were previously optional are now installed as standard, such as the Pre-Collision System with Brake Assist (PCS), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition.

The active safety package also includes adaptive cruise control (from 30 km/h or with optional stop-and-go capability) and intelligent speed adaptation. Other improvements include the installation of front side airbags; a redesigned front bumper for greater pedestrian protection; a collapsible steering column; and reinforced structural components.

The medium-sized Proace van and the passenger-carrying Proace Verso have earned a reputation for offering power, space, and efficiency to comfortably get the job done. Various customer needs are met with a variety of vehicle formats. Notable options include medium and long body styles (4,983 mm and 5,333 mm respectively) and a van version with a passenger cabin featuring an additional second row of seats. It can comfortably accommodate up to nine passengers, with equipment levels that adapt the vehicle for professional use, family lifestyles, or executive transport.

A new electric motor has been introduced, with 136 HP of power and the smooth, relaxed operation of a battery electric vehicle. A new connector and modified fuse box have been added to the lithium-ion battery. As a result, vehicles equipped with the 75 kWh battery can cover up to 20 km more, extending the range to 350 km between charges—a category-leading figure. This level of capacity is more than sufficient for local trips without needing to recharge daily. Furthermore, the battery can be recharged in 45 minutes using a fast DC charging port. A 50 kWh battery option is also available.

Additionally, there are two available versions: the established 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine in the Proace with a 145 HP unit paired with a six-speed manual gearbox; and also offered is a 1.5-liter engine that develops 120 HP.

The compact Toyota Proace City van and its passenger version Toyota Proace City Verso 2024 feature the new front design of the Proace family, giving them a more contemporary look and unique character. It can be configured as a panel van or with a passenger cabin, while the Verso model is a versatile car accommodating up to seven occupants (best in its category) for daily commutes or flexible family transport.

It retains exceptional cargo transport capabilities, perfect for businesses that have made it an award-winning proposition. Several ingenious design solutions increase available space up to 4.4 m3 in the long-wheelbase version—the largest capacity in its segment—and 3.9 m3 in the standard-wheelbase model. The maximum load length can reach up to 4 m—another category-leading value. The battery-electric model supports a maximum net load of 780 kg, while gasoline and diesel versions can carry up to 1000 kg—more than any other in its category.

The battery-electric system available in the Toyota Proace City benefits from the same technical innovations applied to larger Proace models (see details above), along with a new electric motor that gives the vehicle a maximum power output of 136 HP. The technical innovations have resulted in an increase of 50 km in range, up to 330 km. Using a fast DC charging system at 100 kW, the 50 kWh battery can be recharged up to 80% in about 30 minutes. It is also available with two diesel engines: one producing 100 HP paired with a six-speed manual transmission; and another producing 130 HP paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
