Hospital Sant Joan d'Alacant Updates Its Latest Cesarean Birth Care Protocol

The cesarean birth care protocol at Hospital Sant Joan d'Alacant has been updated. Thanks to new humanization criteria, women will now be able to be accompanied by a person of their choice both in the operating room and in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

This measure facilitates skin-to-skin contact with the baby from the very first moment. Lorena Peiró, the hospital's medical director, states that "the center will continue working alongside families to provide the best care."
