Firefighters have rescued a woman who suffered a tibia fracture after falling on a trail near the Relleu walkway. The 38-year-old hiker needed assistance to place a splint that immobilized her leg, transporting her on a stretcher to the area where an ambulance awaited her.
According to the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium (CPB), the incident occurred at 4 PM this Friday near the walkway crossing the Relleu reservoir. At that time, two vehicles from the Benidorm station urgently traveled to the municipality to rescue the hiker.
The woman had fallen before reaching the walkway, breaking her tibia. After contacting the injured person, firefighters immobilized the affected limb with a splint, then stabilized the woman and carried her on a special stretcher to the base area.
From there, she was transferred in a Basic Life Support Ambulance to the Marina Baixa Regional Hospital. A command unit and two light vehicles were used.
