Hiker Rescued from Ravine in Alicante

A 52-year-old man was rescued this Tuesday after getting lost during a hiking route at Peña Cabal, in the Sierra de Aitana, within the municipality of Benimantell.

The hiker, descending through a mountainous area, became disoriented and ended up in a cliff area, unable to continue without risk. Finding himself trapped, he contacted emergency services for assistance.

Due to the complexity of the terrain and the danger posed by continuing the descent through the ravine, the rescue helicopter Alfa 01 was activated and dispatched to the rescue.

Once the hiker was located, the helicopter stationed at a safe point to allow the rescue team to disembark.

The firefighters from the Provincial Consortium reached the man and evacuated him without incident to the San Vicente park, where he was brought to safety.
