High Tension in La Vila Joiosa Following Shooting Incident with at Least One Gunshot Victim

The Civil Guard is investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting that reportedly occurred late this morning. While further details are awaited, it is known that a gunshot victim is currently undergoing surgery at the Comarcal Hospital of La Marina Baixa.

As is customary in such cases, the Civil Guard has refrained from providing additional details about the ongoing operation, as the shooter has not yet been located and officers have commenced a search to facilitate their arrest.

According to sources close to the case, the alert was received by the State Security Forces and Corps around half past twelve in the afternoon. Apparently, the confrontation involved two clans when members of one, engaged in car trading, travelled from Elche to La Vila Joiosa to collect a debt.

At that moment, members of the other family, residing in the Terramar urbanization area of La Vila Joiosa, reportedly opened fire on the first group. During the shootout, a gunshot victim was injured and is currently undergoing surgery at the Comarcal Hospital of La Vila Joiosa.
