A high-speed train traveling from Málaga to Madrid derailed due to an incident caused by heavy rainfall. The front cabin's bogie went off the tracks as it passed through the town of Álora in Málaga.
According to Adif, passengers will be transferred to another train sent from Málaga. They also stated that there are no personal injuries.
This is not the only incident recorded, as train circulation in several areas of Málaga province remains interrupted due to heavy rainfall.
Thus, circulation is interrupted between Gobantes and El Chorro due to the weather conditions in the area. Specifically, it affects conventional gauge trains running between Córdoba and Málaga.
On the other hand, circulation is also interrupted between Cártama and Álora on the same route for this reason. An alternative transport plan with road transfers has been established to ensure passenger mobility.
The heavy rainfall recorded overnight has caused numerous incidents in the province of Málaga, specifically more than 70. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a red alert for extreme risk due to rain in the Sol and Guadalhorce regions, where heavy rainfall has been occurring since the early hours.
