After countless battles, Hercules and Real Murcia meet again. This Saturday at 8:00 PM, more than 20,000 spectators will fill the stands of Enrique Roca, with 3,000 of them supporting the blue-and-whites. Hercules will not lack the warmth of its fans in a high-stakes derby, not just because it takes place in the third division, but because both teams are in promotion spots and have a score to settle after the 2-0 result in the first leg.
Hercules coach Ruben Torrecilla is considering keeping the lineup that thrashed Betis B (5-1) in the best match of the season, although a more defensive change, such as introducing midfielder Mario Garcia, is also possible to contain a wounded Real Murcia, who arrive after a defeat in Antequera and slipping from the top spot.
Hercules needs to correct its erratic away form, and the opportunity is perfect, with over 3,000 blue-and-whites adding color to one of the stands at Enrique Roca. The team arrives with high morale after the win against Betis' reserves. Much attention will be on Dani Romera. The Almerian forward did not leave Murcia on good terms and is on a streak, having scored in the last three matches. He wants to be a protagonist again and has the full confidence of his coach Ruben Torrecilla, who praised him this week: "No one knows him better than I do because we were together in Castellon. If he's in shape he is the best striker in the area in the entire category. We have to take advantage of this streak; he is very motivated after missing almost the entire first leg and has much to offer us."
Torrecilla expressed his delight at seeing how the Hercules spirit "is back," referring to the massive fan turnout expected this Saturday. "One of my challenges when I arrived was to awaken the sleeping giant. I think it has been 20 years since there was such a massive turnout outside the province," he commented.
The Extremaduran described the match against Murcia as the "game of the year" and assured that Hercules will approach the match with the intention of winning, although he did not clarify whether Artiles, Colomina, and Aranda will continue in the engine room. "There will be no need to motivate the team because the atmosphere will be incredible, like the day against Lleida or the first leg. We must approach it well because they have a great squad and very good players," he warned.
