More than six thousand five hundred steps leading to the Hell's Ravine in Alicante will come to life in the upcoming novel by Daniel Hernández Chambers. The writer begins the writing of 'The Lake', in collaboration with 800,000 students from 16 Spanish-speaking countries.

Just like crossing the 'hiking cathedral', this novel will also be a challenge. Its pages and chapters will be written over five weeks with a very special 'modus operandi'. Every Friday, a new chapter of the work will be written by the author, based on the votes of the readers, who will be able to interact with Chambers through a forum.

This digital methodology is based on the creative dialogue of 'Fiction Express', which involves connecting readers with professional authors in an interactive forum and a voting platform to put them in charge of their reading experience by choosing the events that should happen in the novel.

In this way, the 800,000 participating students will guide Daniel Hernández Chambers in the writing and development of 'The Lake', which already has a synopsis preview. There are five protagonists who organize a getaway to the mountain.

Miguel, Isaac, Lázaro, Ainhoa, and Julia want to camp near a lake in an idyllic landscape; however, there are various legends about strange noises, ghosts, and people who have disappeared in the area. Based on these stories, the characters of the novel delve into the search for the truth and, unknowingly, will face a very dangerous ancient mystery.

Throughout the novel, the province of Alicante will be present, both in content and authorship. The chosen landscape to develop the plot is the Hell's Ravine, a spectacular hiking route located in the Marina Alta region of Alicante, between the towns of Benimaurell and Vall d'Ebo.

For hikers, "the area is a cathedral and, moreover, a place full of legends" ideal for the plot of 'The Lake'. The Hell's Ravine features a circular route of nearly 14 kilometers that crosses La Vall de Laguar, showcasing the biodiversity and geology of the region.

With this location, Daniel Hernández Chambers will publish his second novel within the 'Fiction Express' project, after unveiling last year's work 'The Two Houses of the Mirror', with the same methodology of collaboration with Spanish-speaking students worldwide.
