Health Sets Up Mobile Vaccination Point for Flu and Covid: Check Stops in Alicante

Health Department has launched the mobile vaccination unit for flu and Covid to facilitate immunization for the entire population of the Comunitat against respiratory viruses. The mobile unit starts its activity this weekend in the province of Alicante, and until December 15, it will move to various points located in areas with high population density in the three provinces. vaccination against flu and Covid.

Its first stop is this Saturday, November 9, at Plaza de España in Alicante, in front of the bullring, from 10:00 to 14:00. On Sunday, November 10, it will move to Elche to serve the population at Paseo de Jaca, in front of the Palacio de Altamira, at the same time.

The next appointments in our province will be on December 8 in Alcoi, specifically at Plaza Pintor Gisbert, on December 14 at Plaza SS.MM Los Reyes de España in Benidorm, and on December 15, it will move to Torrevieja and will be located at Avda. Dr. Gregorio Marañón number 7.

The Health Department insists on the importance of getting vaccinated, as it is the most effective measure to protect against these viruses and, in turn, prevent possible infections, especially among the vulnerable population at higher risk of complications. In this regard, it is worth remembering that it is evidenced that the flu vaccine can prevent more than half of the most severe cases in older adults and people at risk.

Since the start of the campaign last October, more than a million people in the Comunitat Valenciana have been immunized against flu and Covid. Additionally, the Health Department reminds that since November 4, the vaccination campaign has been open to the entire population without the need to make an appointment.

Specifically, 626,096 people in the Comunitat Valenciana have been vaccinated against the flu. By provinces, 249,540 people are from the province of Alicante, 71,750 from Castellón, and 304,806 from Valencia.

Regarding the Covid vaccine, 421,448 people have been vaccinated in the Comunitat Valenciana to date. By provinces, 166,556 people are from the province of Alicante, 47,633 from Castellón, and 207,259 from Valencia.
