Health Department Announces New Health Centre for Castalla

Castalla is set to have a new health centre, as announced by the regional health councillor, Marciano Gómez, during his visit to the municipality of l'Alcoià this Monday. The centre will be located next to the municipal auditorium on a 3,000 square metre plot.

After holding a meeting with the town's mayor, Jesús López, Gómez stated that "in the next council meeting, the town hall will grant the necessary land, and we have already allocated 50,000 euros in this year's budget to tender the drafting of the project and the management of the construction, along with the functional plan."

In this regard, Gómez emphasised that the town's 12,000 residents "will have the healthcare they deserve in terms of infrastructure, technology, and of course, the necessary human resources, expanding the range of services if needed."

The new health centre in Castalla will be equipped "with the latest technological tools, as well as all the services to enhance doctors' diagnostics, assisting them with the necessary diagnostic elements and thus avoiding unnecessary trips to reference hospitals," the regional leader remarked.

Additionally, the Health Councillor wanted to highlight his support and gratitude to all professionals, on World Family Medicine Day, celebrated today, May 19, "for the necessity of their existence and for the fundamental work they do for the Spanish and Valencian public health."

Thus, he highlighted that "family medicine, and Primary Care in general, constitutes a basic and essential pillar in the healthcare of the citizens of the Valencian Community."
