The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, has issued an alert due to the presence of salmonella in pork cracklings from the brands Frit Ravich and Sun Snacks. The national body extends the warning from the health authorities of Castilla-La Mancha about this product to five autonomous communities, including Valencia.
Specifically, the product in question is 'Pork Cracklings' (barbecue flavour) 50g from the brand Frit Ravich with batch numbers 3001 and 2301. The other affected product is named 'Cracklings' (barbecue flavour) 90g from the brand Sun Snacks with batch numbers 2901 and 2001.
According to available information, the initial distribution was to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla y León, Madrid, and Valencia, although it is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.
This information has been conveyed to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) to ensure the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.
AESAN advises people who have the affected products in their homes to refrain from consuming them. If you have consumed any of the products from the affected batches and experience symptoms compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhoea and/or vomiting accompanied by fever and headache), it is recommended to visit a health centre.
