La Societat Musical L'Harmonia d'Alacant is gearing up to celebrate a perfect Band Parade. It will take place this Saturday afternoon, accompanying the San Antón Alto bonfire, with which they have been parading for several years after setting the pace for other commissions and barracks.
This Band Parade will be perfect for L'Harmonia d'Alacant on its anniversary, twenty years of making music. It is also the same number of parades they have participated in, as - having been founded in August 2005 - the 2025 Band Parade and commissions parade will mark their twentieth consecutive participation.

For this Alicante formation, "it is a great honour to participate in the Band Parade," explains Andrés Colomina, a parade they carefully prepare "with great care" year after year, both in the band's image and repertoire. This is something they have been doing for two decades, establishing themselves as a city reference.
They have known this since 2006, their first parade, when they won the first prize in the Band Parade. This good feeling was also experienced in the barracks category, setting the pace for I no volíem.
These moments are remembered with pride and emotion, recounting the values that led their founders to shape and bring life to L'Harmonia d'Alacant. "We wanted a band that would compete in contests, with a more solid cultural proposal," they detail, looking back 20 years, an ideal they have achieved over this time.

Since then, the number of musicians nurtured by the Societat Musical L'Harmonia d'Alacant - between 45 and 50, they enumerate - has grown, as have their formations. Currently, there are 92 registered performers, and they have a school - founded initially in Raval Roig and now relocated to Roselló Street - with over 120 students and a dozen teachers.
Additionally, L'Harmonia d'Alacant also has several groups within the band. Among them, the children's and the youth bands, as well as a big band made up of "adult students" dedicated to jazz, along with two ensembles: one of clarinets and another of saxophones. "Many things have been accomplished."
'L'Harmonia' sounds again
The L'Harmonia d'Alacant parade during the Hogueras Band Parade will be filled with emotion as they perform, on the occasion of their 20th anniversary, the homonymous pasodoble composed by Luis Molina "as a gift when founding the band".

Another piece that will be heard on the official itinerary is the one commissioned at the end of 2024 for Pepe Balaguer, president of L'Harmonia d'Alacant from 2018 to 2022, and "a very beloved person in the band," to composer Azael Tormo Muñoz.
These pasodobles proposed by the band to the San Antón Alto bonfire will be performed by their nearly eight dozen musicians under the baton of José Tomás Moñinos in a historic moment for L'Harmonia d'Alacant, celebrating this 20th anniversary with the return of its first founding president, José Miguel Ramos Campos, thus marking a perfect milestone.
