The revamped SEAT León introduces multiple technological innovations to its range, celebrating 25 years since its initial launch

More efficient with up to 133 km of electric range, the new SEAT León adds the latest plug-in hybrid generation with the new 1.5 e-HYBRID engine delivering 204 HP (150 kW) and a larger battery, providing over 100 km of electric range and enabling fast charging in just 26 minutes at high-power chargers. Technological highlights include Matrix LED headlights as standard in the e-HYBRID version, a redesigned and improved interface with a 12.9” infotainment screen, and a cooled wireless charger with 15 W of power. The new SEAT León range also receives a new 1.5 TSI petrol engine with 115 HP and 220 newton-meters, available in two trims —Style and FR—, and offers two versions: "Special Edition" and "25th Anniversary", to commemorate the iconic model.

The new plug-in hybrid powertrain of the SEAT León e-HYBRID is based on advanced propulsion technology ensuring efficiency, power, and remarkable range. This system combines a 1.5 TSI petrol engine with 150 HP (110 kW) with an 85 kW (115 HP) electric motor, achieving a total power of 204 HP (150 kW) and a maximum torque of 350 newton-meters, offered almost entirely instantaneously thanks to the electric motor. The new battery capacity is 19.7 kWh net, allowing the León e-HYBRID to travel up to 133 km in fully electric mode. This increase in range is due to both the larger battery capacity and the optimized efficiency of the propulsion system. To reduce charging times, it is equipped with a fast charging system in direct current (DC) up to 50 kW, allowing the battery to be charged in just 26 minutes (from 10% to 80%). If desired, it can also be charged in alternating current (AC), which has now also increased its power to up to 11 kW (previously 3.6 kW), completing a charge in approximately two and a half hours from 0 to 100%.

Regarding the technological innovations implemented in the revamped León, a new improved and redesigned software stands out on its screens, both on the 10.25'' (26 cm) Digital Cockpit instrument cluster and on the information screens, which are now up to 12.9'' (32.7 cm) —10.4'' (26.42 cm) in Style trim—, and include backlit controls to manage temperature and volume, or the wireless charger for mobile devices, which is cooled and increases its power to 15W. The SEAT compact also adds innovations in terms of safety, such as traffic sign recognition or front and rear parking sensors (standard across the range), or the autonomous lane change assistant, included in the connected travel assistant, which allows semi-autonomous Level 2 driving as standard, with the navigator and the 12.9'' screen, and in versions with automatic DSG transmission.

Additionally, the iconic SEAT León celebrates its 25-year history this year, adding the special "25th Anniversary" version to the range, as well as the "Special Edition". Both versions are available with the two León trims: Style and FR; and with TSI petrol engines and eTSI mild hybrids with a 48 V system and ECO environmental label; the "25th Anniversary" edition is offered only with 115 HP in both propulsion technologies, and the "Special Edition" with 150 HP, both TSI and eTSI.

The new SEAT León range introduces safety innovations such as the autonomous lane change assistant, traffic sign recognition, and front and rear parking sensors —the last two elements always included as standard from the entry-level León trim—. The infotainment system now includes 10.4-inch screens in the Style trim, and 12.9'' in the FR models (the SEAT León e-HYBRID version is always FR, so it integrates the larger size as standard). Both screens feature a backlit touch bar to control the climate temperature and audio volume. To facilitate mobile device charging, the León e-HYBRID features the Connectivity Box system, which is now cooled, and increases its power to 15 W; this system prevents device overheating and allows fast and safe charging at all times.

The SEAT León e-HYBRID incorporates a comprehensive range of assistance systems including adaptive and predictive cruise control, traffic sign recognition system, traffic jam assistant, blind spot detector, rear traffic alert system for exiting parking, door opening warning to passengers when another vehicle approaches, emergency assistant, seven airbags as standard across the range (two front airbags, central airbag between front occupants, two front side airbags, and two curtain airbags, both for front and rear seats), which can be further complemented if the two optional ones are chosen: rear side airbag, and knee airbag for the driver.
