Graffiti with Signatures Leaving a Traceable Mark

Paint unintentionally reveals the personality of artists. Also in graffiti, although in this case, the authors might not believe it. The handling of the spray is as unique and personal as a brush or a pen, allowing the author to be traced and identified. This is what happened in El Campello, where graphology experts have conclusively identified a graffiti artist, attributed with six graffiti on public and private buildings and facilities of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat.

The municipal ordinance records these offenses, imposing fines and the obligation to cover the costs to restore these spaces. He is young, but not a minor, so he will personally face the fines, which at 750 euros each, total 4,500 euros (for now), plus over 4,000 euros to repair the damages.

The police operation was carried out once again thanks to citizen collaboration. The direct testimony of a neighbour caught the graffiti artist 'red-handed'. Despite being caught by the officers and identified, he continued causing damage for months.

The police force indicates that the young man could receive more fines as the work of the graphology experts from the Local Police of Elche progresses. Their investigation concludes that he is the material author of at least six graffiti in the municipal area. Experts continue to analyse other graffiti. Whether the acts could lead to criminal responsibility is for other authorities to decide, to whom the case will be referred.

The Security Councillor, Rafa Galvañ, emphasizes the positive outcome of citizen collaboration and coordination between different police forces: "We are not talking about street art, but actions that deface walls and buildings, and we have already warned of actions to identify the authors to sanction and repair the damage caused. The educational phase is over, it's time to act."
