The Spanish Government has agreed to the formal request for de-escalation from the Valencian Community, which sought to move to level 2 of emergency following a meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

The Valencian Government had requested the de-escalation to level 2 of the Territorial Emergency Plan, proposed by Minister Juan Carlos Valderrama, due to the evolving situation caused by the power outage recorded this Monday in the Iberian Peninsula.

The Consell's plenary session agreed late Monday to request the Government to declare a national interest emergency situation throughout the Community as a result of the massive power outage in Spain, proposed by the Minister of Emergencies and Interior, Juan Carlos Valderrama.

"Given the situation affecting all autonomous communities and to ensure the best coordination among all," explained the Valencian president to justify the request. Now, with the situation evolving and the full restoration of power supply since four in the morning, the de-escalation to level 2 of the Plan has been requested, and the Government has approved it.
