Genesis Car Brand Plans Expansion into Spain

Genesis, a car brand under the South Korean automotive conglomerate Hyundai Motor Group, which also owns Hyundai and Kia, is set to make its mark in Spain.

Positioned in the premium or luxury segment, Genesis was launched by Hyundai in 2015 as its luxury division, aiming to compete directly with established brands in this market niche such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus (from Toyota), and Infiniti (from Nissan).

Genesis Motor Europe has unveiled its plans to launch in four new European markets, including Spain, marking a new chapter in its strategic expansion in the region, complementing its current presence in Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The Korean car brand will launch in France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands in early 2026.

Since its arrival in Europe in 2021, Genesis has led the premium electrification movement, offering advanced technologies, smart customer features, and a bold, distinctive design inspired by the brand's "Athletic Elegance" design philosophy and vibrant Korean spirit.

"Our entry into these important markets is a crucial moment for Genesis. We are focusing on consolidating our presence and long-term commitment across Europe. This is the most significant market expansion since our launch in Europe in 2021 and marks the beginning of our next phase of measured and strategic growth, and brand direction," said Xavier Martinet, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe.

Genesis offers a range of vehicles including luxury sedans (such as the G70, G80, and G90) and SUVs (such as the GV60, GV70, and GV80), with a strong focus on sophisticated design, advanced technology, high-quality materials, and an exclusive user experience. They are also expanding their electric vehicle offerings within this luxury segment.
