New Generation Citroën C3 Aircross: Bigger and More Efficient

Citroën has completely reinvented the C3 Aircross, unveiling a compact SUV with a more robust and modern design. This new model shares its platform with the C3, offering a competitive price and great efficiency. It marks a significant evolution in Citroën's offerings, solidifying its position in the compact SUV market.

It is much larger than the conventional C3, thus moving up in segment and focus, as it is now more suitable for both urban and family road trips.

At 4.39 meters in length, the 5-seater version offers the best interior space in its segment in the second row. Alongside it, Citroën also offers a new 7-seater model, a novelty in the segment: designed with the same proportions, it offers unparalleled flexibility of use while remaining compact and maneuverable.

In its 7-seater version, the C3 Aircross offers the same knee room in the second row as the C3 sedan, a shoulder width 25 mm greater than the category average, and generous headroom. The third-row space is equipped to the same standard as the other seats, with headrests, armrests, cup holders, a USB port, foot space, and air conditioning. With all seats deployed, the boot volume is 40 litres, and 330 litres in the 5-seater configuration.

In terms of comfort, the new Citroën C3 Aircross aligns with the C-Zen Lounge philosophy. It stands out for its space utilization and the refined, simple treatment of surfaces. It features a large central touchscreen that controls vehicle functions and offers an intuitive interface.

It offers an infotainment system and all the connectivity expected from this type of vehicle. As for driver assistance systems, it is equipped with features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition.

The new C3 Aircross is electrified in two ways: a 136 HP hybrid powertrain and a fully electric version. The 48V hybrid uses the new generation 1.2 PureTech engine developed specifically for hybrid applications, with 40% completely new components. With a displacement of 1,199 cm³, this 3-cylinder engine develops 136 HP. It features a variable geometry turbocharger and a timing chain. The electric motor (permanent magnet synchronous machine) assists the internal combustion engine to reduce fuel consumption transparently, allowing 100% electric driving for almost 50% of urban use and recharging the battery during deceleration. The homologated consumption is just 5.3 l/100 km.

A 1.2 Turbo petrol alternative with 100 HP is also available as an entry-level option, also with 5 or 7-seat alternatives.

With a range of over 300 km, the 100% electric version develops a power of 113 HP. It can be recharged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes and uses the ë-ROUTES app, a journey planner that adapts to road changes in real-time. It positions itself as an attractive option for those seeking sustainable mobility without sacrificing practicality. A version with a range exceeding 400 km will be available in 2025.

The model is manufactured in Europe at the Trnava plant and is already available for orders. The C3 Aircross starts at €27,400 for the electric model, providing access to electrification from €25,500 with the 136 HP hybrid version. The entry-level petrol model, without hybridization, starts at €18,790.
