The Generalitat Valenciana is going tocompletely redesign the routes and lines of the Alicante Metropolitan Transport(TAM), the blue buses that connect Alicante with towns in the region such as Sant Joan, San Vicente, or Mutxamel, among others. The Department of Environment, Infrastructures, and Territory, led by Vicente Martínez Mus, is in the process of reorganizing mobility in L'Alacantí with the intention of presenting it in 2025.
The TAM "will be completely renewed", sources from the Transport department told TodoAlicante. It will be "one of the most ambitious actions" carried out by the Department regarding the concession map of the entire Valencian Community. Alicante and its metropolitan area have experienced enormous growth in recent years with a population that now comfortably exceeds half a million people. Therefore, according to the regional administration, it is necessary to reset the entire mobility system.

The most novel aspect is that the Department will dispense with previous corridors and establishtwo completely new ones, called CV 207 and CV 208(Alacant Metropolità Nord and CE-208, Alacant Metropolità Nord-Oest, respectively) "which will allow updating lines and improving frequencies and routes," explain sources from Martínez Mus's department.
Within the modification proposed by the Department of Infrastructures for bus transport, some actions have already been launched, such as thenew route CE-705, which will serve the municipalities of Alicante, Sant Joan d'Alacant, Mutxamel, El Campello, and Sant Vicent del Raspeig and improve connections with Agost and Aigües.
Thus, Agost will have an increase in bus frequency and availability 7 days a week, including holidays. The residents of Agost now have two bus lines that connect directly with the Hospital de Sant Vicent del Raspeig, the University of Alicante, and the city of Alicante "365 days a year." Additionally, a new expedition is included in the connection between Aigües and El Campello.
This is an advance of the proposal that will be launched at the end of 2025, according to sources consulted by this digital newspaper.
This is part of the renewal of metropolitan transport in Alicante, which includes the construction of Alicante Central Station, an interconnection node that will combine bus, trains, commuter trains, and tram. The works will begin this October, with hopes to be completed by 2027.
On the other hand, the Minister of Infrastructures, Vicente Martínez Mus, has announced that they already have ready the informative document for the Tram route to Sant Joan University Clinical Hospital, whose award will be made as soon as possible.
