Several months ago, the Generalitat announced that Calp had been chosen, along with Benigánim and Alcora, as pilot municipalities for the implementation of the Unique Social History IT system. This project, costing over 4 million euros and set to be implemented across all municipalities in the Valencian Community by the end of 2026, aims to unify health and social services records, creating a common space to reduce bureaucracy and improve citizen care.
This tool will facilitate the relationship between primary care and social care levels, aiming to ensure continuity and complementarity of interventions, and to provide better service to citizens. The social history will enable health and social services professionals to plan and execute diagnoses, design personalised social intervention plans, and individual care plans and diagnoses.
To initiate the implementation of this project, training has already begun for the Social Services department staff, who received instruction last week on the tools and development of the Unique Social History.
The Councillor for Social Policy and Equality, Itziar Doval, highlighted that this implementation is a fundamental step towards improving social care in Calp. "We are very proud to be the first in the province to implement this innovative system that simplifies management and enhances the quality of care for our residents. With the Unique Social History, we make a qualitative leap in our ability to offer more efficient, coordinated, and integrated social services, always aiming to ensure the well-being of the people we serve," Doval stated.
The creation of this electronic socio-health space will allow for a more effective and agile response to the needs of residents, considering the relationship between health and social care. Additionally, it establishes a solid foundation for integrating other areas of the Generalitat in the future, such as education and employment, creating a more efficient system.
Calp thus positions itself as a reference in the modernisation of social services in the province, with the aim of continuing to improve the quality of life for users and optimising the management of available resources.
