The Generalitat Valenciana has joined as a full member in the financing, promotion, and management of the Alicante Congress Center. The President of the Consell, Carlos Mazón, made this incorporation official by attending the Institutional Joint Commission of the future Alicante Congress Center this Friday, where the President of the Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, and the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, were already present.

The three administrations have met to evaluate the project's current status and define future actions to be developed. "We continue to advance so that this emblematic project becomes a reality as soon as possible. The commitment of the Provincial Council and the Alicante City Council is firm from day one and will continue to be so that, sooner rather than later, the city will have this infrastructure, which will be an architectural milestone and a boost for congress tourism," highlighted Toni Pérez at the end of the meeting.

Regarding the project's status, once the only appeal filed against the winning preliminary project of the international competition has been resolved and the way for the claim has been cleared, the proposal of the UTE presented under the motto 'San Carlos' has already been sent by the Provincial Council to both the Alicante City Council for consideration and the Port Authority to proceed with the modification of the Port's Special Plan.

Furthermore, the Provincial Council will hold a public award ceremony on November 18 for the winners of the competition, where the winning studio will present the details of its proposal. Additionally, an exhibition will be held with this preliminary project and the rest of the proposals submitted to the international competition.

Moreover, to continue with Phase I outlined in the Protocol signed by the Provincial Council and the City Council, an economic-financial report of the project will be drafted, including associated costs such as the port domain concession, the material execution of the urbanization and the Congress Center, or the management and operation costs.

Additionally, a study must be conducted to create the joint management body, either public or public-private depending on the entities involved, to promote the project and determine the annual management and operation of the Congress Center. Once these actions are developed, in Phase II, the inter-administrative collaboration agreement will be signed, outlining the specific legal and financial commitments of the signing administrations.
