The Department of Housing has approved the execution of a budget increase for the 2024 rental assistance call. With this expansion, approved on December 30, an additional 13 million euros are incorporated, reaching a total of 29.5 million euros to ensure coverage of 100% of the submitted applications that meet the requirements. This investment represents a 78% increase over the initially planned amount.

As a result, more than 10,800 families will benefit, which is 28% more than in the last year of the Botànic, which granted 8,500. Specifically, 7,294 initial applications will be addressed, along with 1,500 additional applications, as well as those corresponding to applications from Dana municipalities, totaling 2,098. In this regard, the resolution approves a conditional grant of these applications corresponding to municipalities affected by Dana, for which administrative deadlines are suspended, allowing them a longer period to provide the supporting documentation once the suspension of deadlines is lifted.

The Regional Secretary for Housing, Sebastián Fernández, stated that with both agreements from December 30, "the Consell ensures that no one who has applied for assistance and meets the requirements is left out due to lack of budget."

This 2024 rental assistance call stands out for the application of administrative simplification criteria, driven by the Consell, applying artificial intelligence in the management of applications, thus allowing resolution times to be halved, having been resolved in three months compared to the six required in previous calls.

In 2022, the Botànic "left 2,574 applications unattended" – which equated to 12% of the total requests – "due to credit exhaustion and without making budgetary expansions," according to a statement from the Generalitat Valenciana. In contrast, Fernández expressed, "the Mazón government not only resolved the 2023-2024 assistance in record time but also paid more than 6 million euros in assistance that remained pending in the previous Botànic government to people who received a denial of these aids in 2022."
