National Heritage has announced 35 open positions for permanent staff in 2025, offering a wide range of roles from traditional crafts such as harness making and upholstery to gardening, graphic design, and administration. This diverse offering reflects the unique nature of an institution responsible for 19 palaces, 10 monasteries and convents, over 170,000 works from the Royal Collections, and 18,000 hectares of gardens and forests, as well as supporting the head of state in its representative duties.

Specifically, for the coming year, National Heritage is offering 10 guide interpreter positions and 3 ticketing roles. In its effort to preserve and professionalise historical trades related to the maintenance of its treasured furnishings and properties, it has announced one position for a harness making officer and another for an upholstery officer. Additionally, four positions for assistant garden specialists have been announced for the historic gardens of the Royal Sites of El Pardo and Aranjuez.

Tordesillas, Las Huelgas, La Almudaina...

The offer, as announced this Friday by National Heritage in a statement, also includes a general manager for the Royal Monastery of Santa Clara in Tordesillas (Valladolid), a position for a head of office at the Monastery of Santa María la Real de Las Huelgas (Burgos), and a ticketing role for the Royal Site of La Almudaina in Palma (Balearic Islands), which is known to be the official residence of the Royals during their stays in Mallorca.

As a novelty, a graphic designer position is included for the first time, which will join the Directorate of Properties and Natural Environment, currently engaged in several projects to enhance the visitor experience at various National Heritage monuments and green spaces.

"In its commitment to inclusion and accessibility," the statement notes, "the institution allocates two of the positions to the reserve quota for people with disabilities: one for an English-speaking guide interpreter and another for a ticketing role."

The selection process will involve passing a competitive examination phase, consisting of different tests depending on the specialty in question. The announcement and its terms can be reviewed in the public employment section of the National Heritage website and in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
