Being the Secretary of Organisation for the PSOE has been the greatest privilege of my life. It is an honour that will always accompany me. That, and having helped to form a progressive government that has led Spain to experience its highest levels of growth, employment, and rights, despite the many adversities faced.
Precisely for this reason, in defence of this party to which this country owes so much, and of this government, I have decided to resign from all my positions. I will also hand over my parliamentary seat.
I hope to dedicate myself exclusively to my defence and provide all necessary explanations to demonstrate that, as I have been stating these days, I have never committed any illegality, nor have I been complicit in any.
This morning, I was notified of the order issued by the Honourable Magistrate of the Supreme Court, offering me the opportunity to voluntarily testify on June 25th. From my full willingness to cooperate with justice, I will appear on that day to clarify all the issues raised.
I will ask my legal advisors to appear in the judicial proceedings to study all the actions taken, especially the reports in which I am mentioned, with the aim and confidence of being able to dispel any doubts about the references to me.
These are challenging times, but the PSOE is more necessary than ever. And I will always do what is best for my party and my country.
I reiterate my innocence and trust that it will be made clear after my statement.
Madrid, 12th June 2025.
