Technical full occupancy is expected in Alicante hotels during the main days of the Hogueras festival. Restaurants are also expected to be fully booked. This was confirmed by the Councillor for Festivities, Cristina Cutanda, during a press conference following the City Council's Government Board meeting held this Tuesday.
This year's dates are almost perfect, with several of the main days falling between Friday and Sunday, likely boosting visits to the city's quintessential festival, which kicked off on June 6 with the opening speech.
The Alicante Provincial Hotel Association (APHA) reported a few days ago that occupancy between June 20 and 25 was already at 84.4% in the city's hotels, a figure expected to surpass with last-minute bookings.
The hotel sector has emphasized the "favorable calendar, with a weekend in the middle." Final figures, including last-minute bookings, place hotels at around 90% occupancy. This data indicates a technical full occupancy during the most significant days of the festival, boosting overall June figures to an average of 85%.

APHA indicates that forecasts show values surpassing those recorded in 2024 during a record-breaking Hogueras with massive visitor numbers. That year, with a less favorable calendar, the city's hotels recorded an 87% occupancy rate.
Pre-Hogueras data suggests a promising outlook. May was an excellent month for the city's hotels, surpassing 2024 figures and reaching an average occupancy of 84.1%. Alicante city reached 88.1%, while San Juan beach exceeded 92% occupancy.
According to APHA data, other destinations recorded slightly more modest figures, such as Jávea (82.7%), Alcoy (79.0%), Guardamar del Segura (71.0%), Orihuela (68.9%), Santa Pola (62.3%), El Campello (58.9%), Algorfa (49.2%), or Villena (23.0%).
The origin of tourist demand in May was predominantly international (70%), compared to 30% of travelers from across Spain. Among foreign tourists, the most numerous were from the United Kingdom (24.2%), followed by Norway (6.5%), France (6.5%), Poland (5.6%), Ireland (5.4%), Sweden (5.4%), or the Netherlands (4.7%).
