With rising temperatures, frosts are disappearing from Alicante. Early Wednesday morning saw lows near zero degrees, though not quite reaching it. Temperatures are expected to continue rising throughout the week in the province.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a significant rise in temperatures starting Wednesday, with highs of 19 degrees during the day, increasing to 22 degrees on Thursday and Friday.

In the coming days, minimum temperatures will also rise, from eight to twelve degrees, reaching up to 14 degrees by Saturday, before dropping again to a maximum of 15 degrees next week.

This temperature rollercoaster will begin with a gale sweeping through the city of Alicante. Aemet forecasts winds of up to 45 kilometres per hour starting this Thursday from the northwest of the peninsula.

After this onslaught, wind speeds will decrease to 20 kilometres per hour from Friday, a phenomenon expected to continue throughout the weekend. However, skies will remain clear except for Saturday, 11th January.

The snow level will reach 1,500 metres this Wednesday and will return, according to Aemet, on Saturday. By Sunday, this level will drop to 1,100 metres and down to 800 on Monday, with rain expected in various municipalities of Alicante.

Weather in Alcoi

The city of Alcoi is preparing to reach 20 degrees of maximum temperatures this Wednesday, while minimums also rise to eight degrees after four were recorded on Tuesday.

The fog has cleared in the city of bridges and clouds are now greeting the day. These will not completely cover the sun, allowing rays to shine on the pavements and mountains of the region.

Regarding the wind, speeds will reach up to 20 kilometres per hour this Wednesday in Alcoi, increasing by five more on Thursday. The rest of the week is expected to be calm, with highs of 18 degrees until Sunday, when temperatures will drop to 13 degrees.

Weather in the Marina Alta

The capital of the Marina Alta, the town of Dénia, will experience maximum temperatures of up to 18 degrees this Wednesday. From Thursday, clouds will disperse, allowing the sun to bring highs of 20 degrees.

The next 24 hours will see crosswinds also in the northern coast of Alicante. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) announces gusts of up to 30 kilometres per hour in this town of the Marina Alta, which will return on Saturday.

From Sunday, rain will also return to the town of Dénia and will persist until Monday, when maximum temperatures will drop to 14 degrees.

Weather in the Vega Baja

Thermometers are set to reach 18 degrees of maximum temperatures this Wednesday in the Vega Baja. The sun will flood every corner of Orihuela's orchard, awaiting the winds that will sweep through the town on Thursday with gusts of 30 kilometres per hour.

Mercury will also rise in the next 24 hours to reach 20 degrees of maximum temperatures. These will remain until the weekend, as Aemet warns of a significant drop for next Monday, with highs of 14 degrees and lows of two.
