Fright in Guardamar as 7-year-old girl goes missing

Tremendous fright this bank holiday Thursday, 1st May, in Guardamar del Segura. The report of a seven-year-old girl's disappearance at three in the afternoon in the Centro beach area prompted a wide-ranging search operation throughout the town.

The little girl, dressed only in a swimsuit, vanished without a trace, triggering all alerts. Search teams were joined by members of the Civil Guard, Alicante Provincial Firefighters, and Local Police, among others.

Finally, around seven in the evening, four hours after the disappearance report, the mayor of Guardamar del Segura, Socialist José Luis Sáez, announced on his Facebook profile that she had been found in good health. A happy ending.
