A tale of unrequited love, dreams shattered upon fulfilment, and the pain that accumulates over the years. It all breaks into fragments that Masha tries to piece together to construct 'Gaviota'.
The Argentine director Guillermo Cacace signs this version of Chekhov's classic, performed by an all-female cast, bringing the Russian writer into the present to explore existential conflicts, unrequited love, and disenchantment.
The Teatre Arniches in Alicante will present the show 'Gaviota, a free version of Chekhov' this Friday, 6th June at 8:30 PM, performed with the audience on stage. This shortens the distance between spectators and actresses, as the action unfolds around a table.
This international production arrives at the Institut Valencià de Cultura theatre on Aguilera Avenue in Alicante after visiting some of the most significant venues and festivals on the national scene.
Among them, the Temporada Alta Festival in Catalonia, Teatros del Canal in Madrid, the FIT in Cádiz, and the International Theatre Festival of Vitoria-Gasteiz. These national stops are part of the European tour, which also included performances in France and the Netherlands.
