Drivers in Elche will be able to park for free throughout August in areas regulated by the ORA. From August 1st to September 1st, parking in the blue zone will be completely free, both in the morning and afternoon, in all areas of the municipality. This measure affects all parking meters, which already display the corresponding notice.
With this decision, the Elche City Council once again implements a measure that responds to public demand and eases the financial burden on drivers during one of the months with the least commercial and administrative activity of the year.
The Councillor for Mobility, Claudio Guilabert, emphasized that "we are once again meeting the requests of residents and traders, offering a measure that facilitates parking, boosts local activity, and provides real economic savings for the citizens."
The total exemption from parking fees adds to a previous measure: since July 15th, and for the second consecutive year, the ORA service has been free every afternoon. During the second half of the month, the blue zone was only active from 9:00 to 13:00 from Monday to Friday, as Saturdays were completely free.
With this policy of reduced hours and total exemption in August, the City Council aims to encourage the use of local commerce, facilitate travel, and ease parking pressure during the summer season.
Normal service of the ORA will resume from September 1st, with usual hours both in the morning and afternoon.
