RST and D3O Forge Strategic Alliance to Revolutionise Motorcycle Protection

British brand RST, known for its technical gear for motorcyclists and exclusively distributed in Spain by BIHR, has announced a strategic alliance with D3O, a global leader in impact protection technologies. The agreement, marking a significant advancement in safety, was unveiled during the 2025 Isle of Man TT, one of the most demanding environments in motorcycling. This declaration of intent comes in the edition where the cancellation of the Senior TT reminded everyone that protection can never be a secondary option.

The collaboration between RST and D3O is the result of a year of joint work with the brand's official riders. Following this development period, the British firm has confirmed that its racing suits will incorporate D3O protections throughout the 2025 season. Additionally, this same technology will also be available in commercial models from 2026, thus bringing elite protection to the end user.

D3O is an intelligent material that remains flexible at rest but hardens instantly upon impact. This quality makes it a perfect ally for motorcyclists, combining comfort, ergonomics, and an exceptional level of protection. As Stuart Millington, Vice President of RST, explains, "Collaborating with leaders in innovation is part of our natural evolution. With D3O, we have developed and rigorously tested real improvements that we are now proud to launch in our upcoming collection."

The feedback from riders has been equally strong. Glenn Irwin, multiple BSB winner and official RST rider, highlights that "the RST x D3O armour gives me peace of mind on the bike. D3O protection—recognisable by its distinctive orange colour and CE certification—will be integrated into key areas such as shoulders, elbows, back, and knees. Its presence thus becomes a new standard for high-performance garments in the RST range, reinforcing the position of both brands as leaders in safety and technology applied to motorcycling.
