The passage of the DANA has posed a new setback for the Ford factory in Almussafes (Valencia), amidst ongoing negotiations between management and unions to adjust the workforce volume to market demands.

The factory plans to restart activity at its engine plant next Monday, November 11, instead of this Wednesday as initially planned, according to the UGT union.

This was conveyed in a meeting of the Works Council with management to analyze "the force majeure circumstances currently preventing production at the factory."

The effects of last Tuesday's DANA in Valencia forced a halt in production, which was already affected by a temporary layoff plan (ERTE).

UGT explained that the return to activity at the engine plant was scheduled for this Wednesday, but "the current circumstances of restricted mobility and road conditions, as well as the impact on some suppliers, make it impossible." Therefore, the start of activity has been moved to November 11.

During this week, both parties will meet again to study the evolution of circumstances that will allow production to resume as soon as possible "under conditions of full safety for the workers," added UGT.
