Ford Almussafes Prepares to Negotiate the 2025 ERTE

As the final quarter of the year approaches, union representatives at Ford's Almussafes plant face several pending issues, such as "clarifying, designing, and negotiating all aspects of the ERTE that will come into effect in January 2025."

"More importantly," UGT states, is defining the investment schedule necessary to address the new multi-energy vehicle, which the blue oval's management committed to on March 28.

The Valencian plant bid farewell to its assembly lines for the Transit Connect, a van it had been assembling since 2013. Now, only the Kuga is produced, whose plug-in hybrid version has just been renewed and leads sales of these propulsion systems in Europe.

This model, which has not been specified except that it will feature hybrid propulsion, will ensure sufficient workload for the plant to transition to assembling a 100% electric model by 2027. It is expected that this will reach a capacity of 300,000 units per year.

Additionally, another UGT initiative is to climatize the assembly plant, where temperatures during warm months are nearly unbearable. "Therefore," their statement affirms, they will "demand implementation timelines for improvements in this regard."

UGT and company management agreed on a redundancy plan for 626 workers, with compensations of up to 40,000 euros for employees under 54 and early retirements for those over 53.
