The Folium Fugit Saxophone Quartet Performs at the Mediterranean Foundation

Folium Fugit saxophone quartet will perform this Saturday, March 15, at the Mediterranean Foundation, as part of a new event in the agenda of the Alicante Concert Society. The doors of the Culture Hall on Doctor Gadea Avenue will open at 8 PM.

This new performance by the Concert Society will serve as a sonic journey revealing to the listener an eternal mystery, "where we come from and where we are." The skill of this saxophone quartet will be the guiding thread.

The group consists of David Alonso on soprano saxophone, Tomás Jerez on alto saxophone, Jordi Fuster on tenor saxophone, and David Pons on baritone saxophone. Additionally, Alejandro Juárez will join as a guest artist.

The program for this Concert Society performance in Alicante includes pieces by H. Reinhart, J. Pérez – Villegas, J. P. Rameau, M. Skoryk, G. Lago, D. Shostakovich, and H. Salgán.

Folium Fugit builds its repertoires from universal masterpieces of chamber music adapted to a modern instrument like the saxophone, linking with contemporary music written for the quartet formation.

The group has performed at the International Adolphe Sax Festival in Paris (France), the XIX World Congress of Saxophone (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain), the International Music Festival of Almonacid del Marquesado, the concert series at the Vostell Museum in Malpartida de Cáceres, and the X Contemporary Music Cycle of Badajoz.

Additionally, the members of Folium Fugit are engaged in the interpretation and dissemination of the eclectic repertoire that marked the group's beginnings, a project that recently led them to create 'AXIS', their first joint recording.
