Florida-Portazgo Misses Out on Podium in Special Category

Emotions ran high as the Florida-Portazgo bonfire awaited the verdict from the Special category jury. 'Somos Vacío', the monument created by artists Carlos Carsí and Carlos Corredera this year, was highly favoured by the committee and was among the top contenders.

However, in these Hogueras 2025, the quality of the monuments was exceptionally high, raising the artistic level and competitiveness of Alicante's Official Festivities. This year, Florida-Portazgo could not repeat the victory that 'Geometría Vital' secured in 2024.

The committee received the fourth place awarded by the jury with contained applause, while it was confirmed that Baver Els Antigons clinched the first prize in the top category.

Although the bonfire makers dreamed of a historic double, it was not to be this time. However, the joy remains: tomorrow the committee will collect a very special first prize.

With 'Somos Vacío', Carsí and Corredera have opted for an emotional proposal that invites introspection. The bonfire is a call for pause, inner silence, and reflection as tools for personal transformation. Its daring and visually striking finish impresses from afar and leaves no one indifferent.
