Leaving behind deficiencies to understand emptiness as a possibility. This is the conceptual basis with which the duo of Carlos Carsí and Carlos Corredera fill the Florida Portazgo bonfire of 2025 with life and meaning, under the motto 'We Are Void'.
The bonfire is presented as a spiritual and emotional journey divided into three levels, representing the evolution of human consciousness in a world saturated with stimuli.
Against a hyperactive and competitive society, the bonfire of Florida Portazgo advocates the value of inner silence, pause, and reflection as tools for personal transformation.
The base of the bonfire is formed by the bust of a defeated woman, in neutral tones, lying on the ground. It is the image of someone overwhelmed by the speed of the modern world, a dormant figure laden with mental noise.
Above her, another ninot meditates among spiritual symbols, introspection tools, and great figures like Gandhi, Amma, or Thich Nhat Hanh. In his right hand, he holds a globe, filling it with awareness in a ritual scene inspired by the tea ceremony.
At the top of Florida Portazgo, the third ninot, already "illuminated," rises as a faceless deity. It represents the purity of being in its most essential state: void of ego, free of masks, open to the sacred that dwells in each person when they shed imposed burdens.
In addition to its powerful symbolic and aesthetic charge, 'We Are Void' includes a series of satirical scenes that play with the term from an ironic and contemporary perspective. Emotional voids, political voids, existential voids... and much more in a festive and profound reflection that invites thought without forgoing humour.
