Mar Flores has set aside her usual discretion to make some surprising statements about two of the most important men in her life: the fathers of her children. Flores recalled the time they spent together and what remains beyond their five offspring: from a complete break with Carlo Costanzia to her friendship with Javier Merino. Notably absent from her account was Elías Sacal, with whom the businesswoman has had an on-and-off relationship for years.

Just a few weeks ago, at the end of April, Terelu Campos gave an exclusive interview to Diez Minutos magazine, where she spoke highly of Mar Flores, the current mother-in-law of her daughter. Carmen Borrego's sister praised the former model's fantastic physical condition and the poinsettia she sent for Christmas. Her words drew public reproach from her daughter, Alejandra Rubio, who defended her boyfriend's mother's discretion on the set of Vamos a ver. Mar Flores, for her part, refused to comment to reporters about her co-mother-in-law's statements. This is why it was so surprising that Mar herself decided to open up about her past relationships.

"Sometimes you find someone who empathizes with you so intensely that you think: 'This is the person.' This can be temporary, momentary, or eternal. I found it very momentary. I said: 'This is what I was looking for,'" she recounted on Nagore Robles' podcast, La casa de mi vecina, about the start of her romance with Carlo Costanzia. However, it wasn't what she imagined, and it ended with serious public and private confrontations with the Italian, father of her first child, also named Carlo, who is currently dating Alejandra Rubio. "It turned out it wasn't the right time or the right person," she reflected. "My need for comfort, to rest my head, to not have to keep proving myself... that's what failed me," she admitted. "I needed to lean on someone so much, having been alone for so long, that I leaned on the wrong person," she emphasized. Yet, she achieved one of her "goals": "He is the father of my first child, and goal achieved. I wanted to be a mother, and I was, I was the happiest person in the world at that moment," she recalled.

Despite having a child together, communication between Mar and Carlo has been nonexistent for years. Her story with Javier Merino, her second husband, with whom she had four children and still maintains a beautiful friendship, was quite different. The model and the businessman met in 1995, but their relationship didn't prosper then. A few years later, in September 1999, they reconnected. For Mar, he was a balm during one of her most tumultuous times.

In February 1999, Interviú magazine published a controversial cover featuring Mar Flores and Alessandro Lecquio in bed. At the time, she was dating Fernando Fernández Tapias, and those photographs definitively ended their budding romance.

It was during this time that Javier Merino returned to her life. "There's a magnificent phrase that the father of my four children, whom I was married to for 24 years, told me. It helped me make a decision to step back, speaking about a rather controversial topic that was on the cover for many months," she explained. "I was crying, I was depressed... He said: 'Mar, you're believing their lies. I was there with you. That's not true,'" she detailed. "That echoed in my head for a couple of days, and I said: 'I'm making myself sick.' That day I stepped back. I got married, and my family life healed me," she highlighted.

Mar Flores also commented on her daily life and notably revealed her relationship with other women. "I enjoy seeing women grow, succeed... but when you go somewhere without a partner, a dinner with couples, the women want to kill me because they think I want to get involved with their husbands," she declared explosively. "I am a free and resilient woman. I can't live in a situation where I don't feel free. I've reinvented myself many times because I've been knocked down every ten minutes," she expressed, while also stating that she feels the object of jealousy: "There are people who have ulcers from seeing me happy. They don't say it, but it's true. They're envious."

An unexpected Mar Flores who resembles more the 90s model gracing tabloid covers than the discreet businesswoman of recent times.
