The Alicante City Council is considering opening a disciplinary and sanctioning file against the group of firefighters who "aggressively confronted local police and attempted to violently storm the Plenary Hall" during the regular session for March, according to municipal sources. The local government spokesperson, Cristina Cutanda, emphasised this Friday that the Fire Prevention and Extinction Service (Speis) staff has increased by 47 positions since 2012, while salaries have risen by 14% in the last year and 15% in 2023.
