The National Police are investigating the causes of the death of a woman found this Sunday morning in Alicante. Officers discovered a body in the port area near the Tabarqueras around 11 a.m. and set up a device to retrieve it from the water. Read the full story.

The tram strike in Alicante intensifies from this Monday, 3rd February, and throughout the month, due to a lack of agreement between workers' representatives and the Generalitat. The four unions present in the TRAM d'Alacant's works council (UGT, CCOO, SEMAF, and SF) called these partial stoppages since 27th January to urge Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGV) to approve the improvements agreed upon by both parties in a November agreement. The PSPV's Secretary General, Diana Morant, vowed this Sunday to wrest control of the Generalitat from Carlos Mazón's PP in the next elections, calling it "the greatest nightmare in our history," and criticising them as "negligent and irresponsible" for their management during and after the catastrophe. Alicante took to the streets to run from early this Sunday. The Castles Race, between Santa Bárbara and San Fernando, has already become a classic for running enthusiasts. In fact, registrations are expected to be very close to, if not surpass, the 1,500 participants of 2024. The 5K race started at nine in the morning, followed by the 10K half an hour later on Foguerer José Romeu Zarandieta Street, in front of the 'Pitíu' Rochel sports pavilion. Read the full story.
