The National Police have arrested a teacher from a private school in Alicante for allegedly abusing a 17-year-old student. The school has suspended the 43-year-old teacher, who has been released on charges after appearing before the capital's duty court, according to the Provincial Police Station.

More than a thousand people have once again demanded the resignation of the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, during the second protest against the Alicante native in his city. During the march, led by a banner with the message "Mazón resignation", chants such as "the president to Fontcalent", "Mazón to prison" or "neither forget nor forgive" were heard, in relation to the management of the tragic Valencia flood that left 224 dead.

The 2025 Bonfires of San Juan in Alicante are set to be historic. The calendar indicates that barracas and racós will be open for almost a week, and the main days, from 20th to 22nd June, will be from Friday to Sunday. Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, will flock to Alicante to see the bonfires, enjoy the mascletàs, and experience the nightlife. Preparations are underway.

The Alicante City Council and the Department of Territory and Environment have begun sealing off illegal settlements detected in rural areas, constructions identified by the La Cañada del Fenollar Neighbourhood Association and reported to the authorities.
