The sun returns to the Postiguet beach this Tuesday, and Alicante regains normalcy after a nightmare day following the massive blackout that affected all of Spain on Monday. Electricity was restored to all parts of the city past midnight, although it was recovered by neighbourhoods. The main urban roads regained power around 6:30 PM and lit their streetlights before 10 PM, although electricity was restored in phases. Click here to read the full story.

An electric car belonging to the Calp Town Hall caught fire on the afternoon of this Tuesday, April 29, while parked on Ifach Avenue. The vehicle, part of the municipal fleet, began to emit smoke around 7 PM, and the Local Police had to evacuate a building and the Town Hall's cleaning staff, according to TodoAlicante. On a non-school day in the Valencian Community and a holiday, for example, in the city of Valencia, Benidorm experienced a day of apparent tourist normality on Monday. At midday, encouraged by the sun and heat, visitors and locals mingled. The former, already seeking refreshment in cafes and beginning to think about finding a place to eat. Alicante schools will resume classes this Wednesday after the blackout that left mainland Spain without power for most of Tuesday. Gradually, the province of Alicante is returning to normal after the historic blackout experienced on Monday. With classes cancelled, as well as a multitude of events, the power supply has already returned to 99% of the places in the Peninsula, according to Red Eléctrica Española (REE) on Tuesday morning after a day of utter chaos and digital disconnection.
