The sequence of a cold drop two weeks ago and the succession of storms 'Jana' and 'Konrad' have poured more than 400 litres per square metre in the province of Alicante in recent days, particularly in areas like Vall de Gallinera and Vall d'Ebo in the Marina Alta. These rains have helped recharge aquifers and reservoirs, crucial infrastructures for the sustainability of Alicante's agriculture, ensuring enough water for a month of irrigation, according to Asaja Alicante's estimates. The Health Minister, Marciano Gómez, announced this Wednesday the extension of the private concession of the Elx-Vinalopó health department, having met the two required indicators and "red lines" that the quality indicators were "better than average" and being able to "finalise the settlements". At a breakfast briefing of the Fórum Europa Tribuna Mediterránea this Wednesday, he defended that, as they have met "the two conditions", the Ministry will extend the administrative concession contract of this department. It will be for a period of five years starting June 2025. Click here to read the full story.
