The Alicante City Council plans to expand regulated parking (blue and orange zones) to more neighbourhoods in the city, a measure included in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan carried out in 2013 and to be implemented in a few months along with the introduction of the Low Emission Zone. The aim is to facilitate pedestrian traffic in the centre and restrict vehicle circulation as much as possible. Click here to read the full story.

A tremendous scare occurred at midday this Tuesday in the Raval Roig neighbourhood of Alicante when a bin caught fire in the middle of the street, not once, but twice. The fishing sector in the province of Alicante is facing a new setback. After weeks of protests against the European Union (EU) regulations that cut the days for trawlers to work in the Mediterranean, they now face a strike that directly affects them. Click to read the full story.

The Alicante City Council has renewed public transport subsidies until 30th June 2025, with an additional month as compensation for the days when the price increased due to the central government's failure to renew it. Therefore, bus tickets belonging to the Alicante Metropolitan Transport (TAM) system, such as bobuses, route 4/30, and others like the 30-day pass, will maintain the 50% discount they currently have until July.
