The foolishness of a group of minors in Elche who decided to throw stones at cars passing over a bridge could have ended in tragedy. Four of the five alleged participants, aged between 14 and 15, have been identified by the Local Police for a suspected crime against road safety, according to a statement from the Elche City Council.
The Elche Local Police received a call alerting them to a group of youths throwing large stones at vehicles passing under the Barrachina bridge. Several patrols immediately went to the scene.
Once there, the municipal officers observed several large stones on the road, which were removed from the roadway to prevent accidents. They also assisted one of the drivers whose vehicle was hit by a stone and could not continue driving due to the damage caused by the impact.
After conducting several searches in the area, the patrols located four of the individuals involved, aged 14 and 15, and filed charges for a suspected crime against road safety. Additionally, the minors were placed under the custody of their parents.
