Firefighters Extinguish Blaze in Muro d'Alcoi Industrial Area

Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium stabilised a fire in the early hours at the exterior of a scrapyard. The crew responded overnight to this business located on the Alcoi-Valencia road, in the Muro de Alcoy area.

The emergency services received the fire alert at around 2:13 AM. At that time, the units arrived at this area of Muro de Alcoy to work on extinguishing the blaze. The fire was declared stabilised by 7:00 AM. The incident occurred at a scrapyard at kilometre 140 of the Alcoi-Valencia road, the old N-340, according to the Consortium.

The flames began in the exterior yard of this scrapyard, and the firefighters' intervention prevented the flames from advancing and spreading to adjacent industrial warehouses.

The ongoing operation involves a command unit, a heavy forest pump, three heavy rural pumps, another heavy forest pump, two sub-officers, a sergeant, two corporals, and twelve firefighters from the Cocentaina, Ibi, and Sant Vicent stations.

Fortunately, no one was present at the fire site, and there are no reported injuries.
