The Ministry of Justice and Public Administration has awarded the contract for the installation of a fire protection system in industrial warehouses designated for the storage of paper documentation for judicial archives in the Pla de Vallonga industrial estate in Alicante.
The new installation, with an investment of 1,537,491 euros (including VAT), will feature an automatic fire detection system, as the building is classified as type B, with a high intrinsic risk and a constructed area exceeding 500 square metres. This detection system will be responsible for activating a water mist extinguishing system. To avoid false positives, a cross-detection system will be installed, requiring the activation of two independent detectors in the same area to initiate extinguishing.
The detection centres will be located at the entrance of warehouse 1 and connected to the Centralised Control Post (CECON) in the City of Justice in Valencia, allowing real-time status monitoring and alarm notifications.
Additionally, a manual fire detection system will be installed with push buttons located next to each evacuation exit in the fire sector.
The installation works include 30 fire detectors and 14 barriers. The fire alarm system will have 30 push buttons and centralised alarm communication with sirens. Additionally, 38 fire extinguishers, 16 fire hydrants, 79 emergency lights, as well as water sprinklers and a water mist system will be installed.
This protection system aims to ensure the safety of the goods stored in the judicial facilities, contributing to a safe environment in compliance with current safety regulations.
