A fire broke out this Sunday in a wooded area in Las Ramblas in Orihuela Costa, near the Tajo-Segura transfer canal, forcing the evacuation of fifty residents from some bungalows, as confirmed by the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium.
The flames spread rapidly through the area's vegetation, prompting the activation of level 1 of the PEIF (special plan against forest fires) due to its proximity to local urbanisations. To extinguish the fire, the Consortium deployed aerial resources that supported ground operations (withdrawn at 20:40 hours).

In total, a command unit (UMJ), a heavy urban pump (BUP), a heavy tanker pump (BNP), two heavy rural pumps (BRP), as well as a sub-officer, a sergeant, two corporals, eleven firefighters from the Torrevieja and Almoradí stations, two aerial units, and four forest firefighter units (UBF) were mobilised.
