A fire surprised residents of Eusebio Sempere Avenue in Alicante this Wednesday morning at 10 AM. The incident reportedly originated in an office located in a building in this central area of the capital.

The building, which is near Plaza Galicia and has almost ten floors , saw the arrival of three fire trucks whose personnel managed to control the situation fairly quickly, according to TodoAlicante. However, as a precautionary measure, one person was taken to the hospital for an examination to determine if they had inhaled smoke.

The fire caused a commotion on the avenue and its surroundings at an hour when only minutes earlier a heavy downpour had hit the city of Alicante. The emergency services' intervention allowed the road to be reopened to traffic 40 minutes later . At the scene, in addition to fire specialists, medical and police units were present.

The causes of the incident are still under investigation, with no hypotheses yet disclosed according to consulted sources.
