A company from Benidorm is facing a hefty fine imposed by the Palma de Mallorca City Council for plastering advertising posters on lamp posts, fences, walls, trees, and streetlights throughout the city.
This was stated by the council in a communiqué, detailing that the company must pay 27,431 euros for placing 81 advertising posters in various areas of the city. They warn that if this practice continues, fines could soar to 6,000 euros for each advertising piece.
In the communiqué issued by the City Council, the municipal body's infractions service has initiated fines ranging from 150 to 300 euros for each of the posters initially reported. As the company allegedly continued to put up posters, the latest signs (9) have been fined 1,000 euros each.
These are 81 cases of severe violations of the municipal ordinance on dynamic advertising, and fines could rise to 6,000 euros per poster if this advertising continues, which has already been removed and confiscated by the Local Police officers and municipal area officials.
Some of the signs advertised money loans in exchange for a car as collateral. "Money loans in one hour, using your vehicle as collateral and keep driving," could be read on at least a couple of them.
