FIFA will distribute €1 billion among the 32 clubs participating in the World Cup, which will take place next summer from June 12 to July 13 in the United States. The football governing body announced on Wednesday that the revenue generated by the competition, expected to reach €230 million, will be shared among all clubs worldwide. The winner of the new FIFA Club World Cup could earn up to €115 million.

"In addition to the largest cash prize in football tournament history, there is an unprecedented solidarity investment program that will undoubtedly significantly boost our ongoing efforts to make football truly global," highlighted FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The International Federation guarantees that it will not withhold funds for the Club World Cup nor use the organization's reserves, "which are reserved for the development of global football through FIFA's 211 member associations."

"The distribution model aligns with the pinnacle of club football represented by the FIFA Club World Cup and constitutes the largest cash prize in football competition history, featuring a group stage and knockout rounds comprising seven matches," Infantino recalled, referring to a tournament that in its first edition will have Spanish representatives Real Madrid and Atlético, and has recently expelled Mexico's Club León, where James Rodríguez plays, due to shared ownership with Pachuca.

FIFA announced the economic distribution model "following fruitful discussions with key stakeholders, including the European Club Association (ECA)." The governing body will distribute up to €486 million for participation in the World Cup, although it will not be the same amount for all participating clubs, as it will depend on each entity's contribution, both sporting and commercial.

During the group stage (three matches), a victory will be rewarded with €1.85 million, and a draw with half that amount. Advancing to the round of 16 will earn €6.95 million, to the quarter-finals €12.16 million, and to the semi-finals €19.45 million, while the runner-up will receive another €27.7 million and the champion an additional €37 million.
